Academic Excellence Rooted in Catholic Faith

Frassati Catholic Academy Kindergarten provides a strong foundation for learning within a caring, faith-filled environment. These early years are a formative time of growth, where students begin developing essential academic skills, building friendships, and learning to make good choices.

Through engaging, developmentally appropriate experiences, students grow in confidence, kindness, and responsibility as they learn and play together.

A Structured Academic Program

Students complete a full daily schedule of core coursework:

  • Mathematics
  • Phonics
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Religion

Students also engage regularly in science, social studies, and art through integrated units that foster curiosity, discovery, and an early understanding of the world around them.

Instruction focuses on building strong early literacy and communication skills. Students listen to and discuss stories, share ideas, and begin expressing their thinking through drawing, speaking, and writing.

With guidance, students learn to:

  • Ask questions and make connections
  • Listen respectfully and take turns
  • Share ideas with growing confidence

These experiences lay the foundation for clear communication, thoughtful thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.

Academic expectations are introduced more clearly. Students are guided toward independence and responsibility in age-appropriate ways. In Kindergarten, students are expected to:

  • Complete work with teacher support
  • Follow daily routines and classroom expectations
  • Practice finishing tasks carefully and completely
  • Participate in discussions by listening and taking turns
  • Ask for help and express their needs appropriately

These early habits build confidence, responsibility, and readiness for continued academic growth and rigor.

Catholic Intellectual Formation

Faith is woven throughout all areas of learning and guides daily life in the classroom. Students are introduced to Bible stories, foundational Church teachings, and the importance of loving others through their words and actions.

Students attend Mass regularly and experience Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, helping them grow in reverence and an understanding of God’s presence. By participating in the life of the church they learn traditional prayers while also beginning to understand why we pray and how prayer helps us grow closer to God.

Across all subjects, students are encouraged to recognize the goodness in others and understand their place within a caring community. In science, they explore the natural world with wonder and begin to appreciate the beauty of God’s creation.

Students also receive instruction in Spanish, technology, physical education, and music, supporting their growth as well-rounded learners and helping them recognize their connection to the universal Church and the broader world.

Faith connects what students learn to how they live, helping them grow as kind, curious, and responsible individuals.
