I have a Master’s Degree in Science Education from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Saint Thomas. I taught high school for 7 years including: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Health, Physical Science, Forensic Science, Environmental Science, and ACT preparation courses, as well as guided student research and independent studies.  I have 4 teaching licenses in high school Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Earth Science.  I spent 8 years as a one man traveling science show presenter for the Science Museum of Minnesota and taught summer camps there.

Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, I held many jobs before becoming a science teacher including: bench-top chemist, procedure validator, quality analysis technician, student researcher, office manager, production chemist, kitchen worker, gas station clerk, laboratory technician, summer camp counselor, stockroom assistant, kickball umpire, and professional tutor in all subjects.

When not at school I delight in doing fun dad stuff with my son.  We spend a lot of time at the playground, beach, and camping.  I have taken up exercise as a hobby and over the course of a year walk, bike, swim, cross country ski, and do Wiifit when it is raining.
