I have many years of teaching experience. I enjoy teaching because I believe that education is important to helping students become responsible, creative citizens and learning is a never ending adventure. I am licensed in elementary education, and also have middle school licenses in English, science, and social studies. I have a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Critical Pedagogy from the University of St. Thomas. I have a Doctorate in education from Hamline University.

I have participated in other activities that have enhanced my understanding of STEM. I spent time working on STEM curriculum for the MN Zoo. I spent a summer as a TWIST (Teachers Working in Science and Technology) teacher at 3M. Both of these experiences added to my understanding of the engineering process and have enabled me to share the experiences with the students.

In my spare time I enjoy kayaking, gardening, working out and enjoying time outdoors when it isn’t too cold. My future goal is to try paddle boarding.
