/in Uncategorized/by Melanie GageI would like to thank you for such a wonderful family night turnout last evening. It was nice to see all of the kids having a great time! I hope you enjoyed the fellowship and the opportunity to talk with other families. I hope to have periodic social events to continue to build a strong school community. I realize that not everyone was able to attend the presentation at 7:00 pm so I am attaching it to this email so you can review the information shared. I will also be writing more about some of the topics in our future newsletters.

Iconography
Debra Korluka
WBCA is pleased to present a new book called Seeking the Face of Christ – The Way of an Iconographer by Debra Korluka who will be teaching Frassati students iconography in October and November.
All are invited to attend a lecture and book signing on the evening of Monday, September 29th from 7:00-8:30 PM at White Bear Center for the Arts. This book comes highly recommended by critics and professors, and showcases Debra’s journey as an artist and an iconographer. Here is one endorsement of the book:
“‘Reading’ Debra Korluka’s icons, one comes face to face with a theological statement articulated through a special philosophy of colors. One also invariably experiences the essence of lived faith and a sense of belonging to the symbolic and real world of Eastern Christianity. The volume, published in Russia and representing her finest work chiefly produced in the United States, constitutes a vibrant witness of the revival of icon painting during the last half century in the native hearths of the genre and in the Diaspora. It should uplift readers and viewers alike.”
-Theofanis G. Stavrou, Professor of History, University of Minnesota
Class ID: 5A00
Date/Time: Monday, September 29, 7:00-8:30PM
Tuition: FREE with registration
